General District Description

District Overview (per Sec. 32-1-104.5(3)(a)(X), C.R.S.)

North Suburban Metropolitan District Nos. 1-4 are local governments that provide certain public improvements and services for the North Suburban communities.

Public Improvements and Services

The Districts are authorized by the Special District Act and the Consolidated Service Plan to provide part or all of the Public Improvements necessary and appropriate for the development of a project within the City known as North Suburban.

Maximum Debt Authorization

The Districts are authorized by its Consolidated Service Plan to issue a maximum of $73,500,000 in debt for funding and/or operations of the Districts’ public improvements and services.  The Districts have not issued debt thus far.  

Authorized Sources for Debt Repayment

The Districts are authorized to repay its general obligation debt from any and all legally available revenues of the District, including but not limited to, fees, penalties, rates, or charges.

Maximum Mill Levy for Debt Repayment

The Districts’ Service Plan allows Maximum Mill Levy shall not exceed 50.000 mills, subject to adjustment by the Board as described in the Service Plan.

Board Member Qualifications

The Districts hold regular elections for board members on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May of each odd-numbered year. A person is qualified to be a candidate if they are a registered to vote under the Colorado Uniform Election Code of 1992 and are either (1) a resident of the District(s), or (2) the owner (or spouse or civil union partner of an owner) of taxable real or personal property within the District(s).  People interested in a position on the Districts’ Board of Directors may contact the Districts’ legal counsel for further information:
